Colubris Networks 802.11n and their 'Always-n' Technology
|
 |
|
If you're tired of promises that include the words Faster, Farther or Cheaper, take heart - 802.11n means it. With the likes of MIMO (multiple input-multiple output) technology, optimization, and possibly some fairy-dust, it appears that the claims of faster and farther are true -- extending this reality
to business total cost of ownership requirements, it seems that 802.11n solutions ought to translate into less access points required to cover a given area versus what the older Wi-Fi technologies could support.

The new Colubris Multiservice Access Point (MAP-625) high performing, enterprise class units
scheduled to be available next month (February, 2008) through NetLink. The MAP-625 is 802.11n Draft 2 compatible and software upgradeable for investment protection. Colubris Always-n technology offers simultaneous support of 802.11a/b/g client devices while delivering up to 300 Mbps performance to 802.11n clients. The MAP-625 design features an 802.11n radio with 3x3 MIMO technology and an 802.11a/b/g radio providing 100 Mbps throughput.

The Colubris Always-n Guarantee.
In case you missed this in the paragraph above - the
MAP-625 is 802.11n Draft 2 compatible and software
upgradeable for your investment protection. In
short, while we can't promise you what other vendors are
doing or planning in this regard, Colubris is saying
that when you buy their MAP-625 today -- regardless of
what gets ratified (Draft 3 ratification expected in
early 2009), your investment will be protected - no
matter what.
Capable of operating in 'n' mode when used with the Colubris Multiservice Controller 5000 Series, you can migrate forward (right now) to 802.11n by simply adding the new MAP-625 dual radios to your network.
NetLink can take your orders TODAY - and the new MAP-625
is scheduled for initial shipment mid-late February, 2008.
These MSC 5000 Series units support the MAP-625: MSC-5100,
MSC-5200 and
MSC-5500.
